TOO DEHYDRATED TO CRY
Chained & shackled, starved & bound, Words & cries crushed in pain
Lashed & lashed & lashed again & the blood it slowly drains,
Anger n fear, Courage n pride, so shattered i wish i'd died
Shamed, embarressed, grown men cried
How did i get captured for this ride,
1704 began with a smile, forced across the waves to the unknown beyond, they drop Irory Coast from view my roots my home, my wife my child
Funded by the Queen Annes Bounty,
The South Sea Company caged & hauled 30yrs of enslaved souls,
away to plantation lands, whips n chains, the ship sails on, yaws, pitched n rolled
Diseased, some drop like flies, tossed overboard, traders note a minor loss of captured muscle skin & bone
Now too dehydrated to cry, or care, dim eyes just an empty stare, Retribution can never repair this atrocity of dispair, nor make an atone, the evil is too large & too far gone
Plantation owners having fun, feet still shackled Can not run
Cant escape the blazing sun, Sugar values worth more than life, how do they equate all this dread
The Protestants sponsers of this evil trade with ships crewed, designers of this darkened stife, rest comfortably at home in their bed
Some Freed men, now share the pirates deck, coloured faces, reclaiming pride & sign on to try make a stand,
gainst savage merchants roaming the seas, steeling their way thru foreign lands
'Queen Annes revenge' aptedly named, battles back, always ready for attack, they strike at each Crown to bring them down the Spanish, Brits & French, who sold their soul for spices, silver n gold
It seems was the way, of the BLACK BEARDED one, the coloured faces & the Pirates of ole
