Homestead
May 2020, we bought a residence in Gregory Town, a beautiful township on the Island of Eleuthera.

We did renovations to best suit our needs & lifestyle.
Inclusive of making it an almost off-grid sustainable home.

More about our space...
In short, our potable water is captured in a rainwater cistern, which is then UV sterilized & filtered through a triple filtered mini Reverse osmosis unit, providing us our drinking water.
Our garden, which is constantly growing in size, has an abundance of flowering plants, fruit trees &everyday; vegetables & herbs. Bananas, plantains, avocado, mango, sour sop, guava, sugar apple, barbados cherry, coconut, papaya, key lime & persian lime trees, pigeon peas & pineapples. We also have a year round supply of hearty herbs: Oregano, Thyme, Rosemary, Bay leaf & All spice.
Our seedlings were started on the September moon, as follows for this winter season;
So we have these going in our raised beds: Tomatoes, green peppers, hot peppers,
scallions, cilantro, broccoli, cauliflower, beets, snow peas, beans... as these don't perform well during the summer months of June-August. The peppers will be transplanted into pots.
My wife is renown for making batches of Pepper Jelly which she Jars & sells. We also make a vinegar based pepper sauce, which is becoming popular with close friends...who knows, maybe this will be available for public consumption in the
future.
Now thats its cooled off significantly & EI Nino has kept the Hurricanes away so far this 2023 season...we are now starting up our hydroponic garden:
Lettuce, Bok-Choy, Spinach, Arugalar, Chives, Celery. We havent yet tried carrots, potatos & onion in our garden as yet but clearly these are warranted & intend to get these going now.
Our Cat 'Snapper' & Pups, 'Sushi' & 'Scruffy' are so attentive & help us when were
tending to the gardening.
More updates to come...
